Arrival and access

The entrance gate has a combination padlock. Enter the correct code, open it and enter the grounds. Close the gate behind you; from inside, you can lock it with the same padlock so the entire space remains private for your group.

A secure key box is located beside the sauna entrance. Open it with the second code and take out the sauna key. Then simply close the box; you do not need to scramble the digits yet.

Private codesBoth codes will arrive by email and SMS approximately one hour before your reservation. They are intended only for you and your group.

Lighting

The light controls are located on both sides of the entrance to the lounge.

One switch controls the dim ambient lighting recommended for resting and sauna bathing. On the other side are the brighter practical light and outdoor lights, useful when arriving, changing and leaving.

02 — During your visit

Wood-burning stove

The sauna will be hot and the fire will already be burning when you arrive. There is no need to light it from scratch. The stove is powerful and retains heat, so add wood gradually. One or two logs are usually enough.

To raise the temperaturePull the ash drawer out by about 3 cm. More air will make the fire burn more intensely.
To maintain the temperatureOnce it feels right, push the ash drawer fully in. Add more wood only when the previous logs are burning down.

Do not overfill the stove. An overheated sauna is difficult to cool quickly and excessive heat may be uncomfortable or unsafe.

Towels and changing

If you ordered towels or sauna sheets, they will be ready in the lounge; otherwise bring your own.

Always use a sufficiently large sauna sheet. Your whole body, including your feet, should rest on it without touching the benches directly.

  • A large sauna sheet and towel.
  • A robe and flip-flops or other light footwear.
  • Enough drinking water or another non-alcoholic drink.
·····

Fold-down bed

Before lowering the bed, place the two stools beneath its front corners. Pull the handle; the bed will lower slowly onto the stools.

Check that both sides are properly supported before use. Raise the bed back to its upright position before leaving. The stools may remain in place.

Sauna bathing

The temperature changes with the intensity of the fire. Do not rely only on the thermometer; pay attention to how you feel.

Add water to the stones in small amounts and with care. The resulting steam is extremely hot. Rest and rehydrate between rounds.

Zero toleranceAlcohol and prohibited intoxicating substances are not permitted.
−−···

Shower

The shower is inside the sauna building and supplies cold utility water only. It is not drinking water, so do not drink it or use it to refill bottles.

Use the shower to cool down between sauna rounds or rinse off before entering the reservoir.

Cooling in the reservoir

The Hostivař Reservoir can be reached directly from the garden, only a few steps from the sauna. Cooling in the natural water is one of the central parts of the experience.

  • Never enter the water alone; remain within sight of your group.
  • Enter slowly and consider your abilities, the weather and the current water temperature.
  • Watch for slippery or icy surfaces.
After cooling downRest in the lounge or outside on the terrace.

Locking up and leaving

Raise the fold-down bed, place rented laundry in the storage bench and take all your belongings. Check that the stove door is closed, push the ash drawer fully in, switch off the practical and outdoor lights, and close every window and door.

Lock the sauna entrance. Return the key to the secure box, close it firmly, and only then scramble the digits so the access code is no longer visible.

Entrance gateUnlock the padlock, leave the grounds, close the gate and lock it again from outside. Finally, check that both the sauna and gate are securely locked.

Your reservation ends at the time stated in the confirmation — allow time for changing and departure.

Enjoy the quiet, the warmth of the wood fire and the chance to cool directly in the reservoir.
